By now, you have probably heard about Citrix’s latest changes to their support structure. As of January 1st, 2017 Subscription Advantage (SA) will no longer be available for purchase.  This was the common Citrix support package that accompanied purchases of Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop. This will be replaced by Citrix Select, which is a more comprehensive service, but at an additional cost.

One way to bypass this additional cost in the short term is to renew your current SA contract as soon as you can. If you are planning on adding new licenses for either XenApp or XenDesktop, then you should act quickly in order to take advantage of SA pricing since Citrix will continue to honour existing support contracts until their current expiration date.

As of June 1st 2017, SA contracts will be non-renewable.  You may choose to renew your SA early and/or for multiple years in order to take advantage of current pricing.
