Toronto Hydro Offers Data Centre Incentives
The reasons to consider server virtualization and consolidation are now even more compelling. In addition to the well known benefits of reduced energy consumption and long-term equipment cost savings, Toronto customers can now get an immediate rebate from Toronto Hydro Electric Systems when they optimize their data centre equipment.
According to Toronto Hydro, power reduction initiatives in Toronto's data centres can qualify for $300 per actual peak kilowatt reduction, up to 50 per cent of the total project cost. The rebate will comes in a one-year lump sum payment. Customers will also like the fact that they will continue to see hundreds of dollars in yearly energy cost savings once the upgrades are complete.
