IT Weapons and the Canadian Cloud: Office 365 and Azure Update

Did you know that IT Weapons is already one of Canada’s exclusive invite-only Tier-1 Microsoft Cloud Solution Providers?  That  means we are able to deliver simplified and transparent Office 365 licensing, billing, and expert support to our clients looking to move to the cloud for Office 365.

Data residency concerns have been a longstanding barrier to public cloud adoption in Canada.  2015 survey data suggests that at least 40% of Canadian IT leaders were hesitant to move IT workloads into the cloud if that meant their company data would leave Canada.  Say goodbye to those worries.  Earlier this month, Microsoft’s Canadian public cloud started to come online (with full functionality coming later this summer).  And with this new cloud platform in Canada, ITW has been in the lab expanding our own capabilities as well!

Soon IT Weapons will have the ability to deliver Office 365 and Microsoft Azure services through these Canadian data centres.  The “Made in Canada” cloud offering ensures local data residency, compliance and helps with redundancy for business continuity.  Our team is also getting ready to deliver  fast and private connections to the cloud with Azure ExpressRoute; ensuring reduced data latency compared to standard internet connections.

As part of the early adoption program for select Canadian Microsoft partners, our team has been hard at work testing the functionality of the Azure stack with our simulated demo client Yeti Capital – running Citrix and Windows Server workloads in the Canadian Cloud to evaluate performance before we start offering these options to clients.  When the Canadian data centres come fully online later this summer, we’ll be ready with an expanded portfolio of cloud services to help boost productivity and protect your business.

Leveraging the Microsoft cloud here in Canada is extremely exciting – delivering the power of choice to our clients for offsite DR and server replication, using the cloud for DevOps and sandbox testing for apps and services.  Again, without the data residency worries but with all the service and client experience you can expect from IT Weapons.

Curious about your company’s journey to the cloud?  Let’s talk.
