1. What does IT Weapons do? You don't actually sell weapons do you?

IT Weapons is a cutting-edge business technology consulting company. We also operate a state-of-the-art Data Centre, where we provide IT infrastructure hosting and end-to-end managed services. We maintain industry leading expertise in all areas of business related IT; server-based computing, virtualization, network architecture and security, business continuity, unified communications, and much more. No firearms here… The name is a metaphor, and as such, we get plenty of raised eyebrows from customs agents and border guards!

2. Why do you call yourselves "weapons"?
It’s memorable. And it says so many things about our team and our business.  For one thing, it reminds us that we need to always stay sharp.  Weapons aren’t just used for offense; they are used for defense too.  Customers think of our team as an arsenal, keeping their business safe from inefficiency, downtime, and safe from security threats.

3.  isn’t it time you felt safe? What does that mean?
From day one we’ve built our business with two things in mind; integrity and expertise.  Our goal is to be honest with everyone and really good at what we do.  That’s how we develop our customers’ confidence and trust.  Also, we believe that our customers should focus their resources on running their business, not worrying about the stability and cost of their IT infrastructure.  That's our job; keeping your business safe. And that’s what makes us so successful.

4. What is the significance of the sword and the blue dot on your logo?
The sword with the blue dot in our logo has several meanings. For one, it’s a graphic representation that spells out “IT” for IT Weapons. Also, the sword represents the weapons theme as described above in #2.  The blue dot is IT Weapons’ beacon; it symbolizes our customers’ trust, loyalty, and our commitment to keeping them safe.

 5. What is the significance of 6/16/00?
It’s our birthday! IT Weapons was founded on June 16th, 2000 by Jason MacBean and Ted Garner. Check out our company history for the whole story.

6. What does "remember the fear" mean?
It’s about remembering where we came from and staying true to our core values.  An old proverb says: Arrogance diminishes wisdom.  We should never forget what it is like to be a newcomer in a powerful team in a fast-paced, knowledge-based environment.  It can be overwhelming.   And no matter how successful you are, it can all disappear within a cloud of over-confidence.

7. Who or what is Gabriel?
It’s not a guy…Gabriel is the name we gave to our technical support team back in 2002.  Some folks still use this name for our Helpdesk team.

8.  How do I become part of the IT Weapons team?
So you want to be a weapon? We are always looking for talented individuals searching for a challenging career. Check out our Careers page or email careers@itweapons.com .

9. What's the difference between Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity?
The basic difference is this: one is an IT solution—focused on components, systems, and technical details.  The other is a more general business-centric solution, including non-technical things like executive planning, workforce continuity plans, and overall risk assessment.  Disaster Recovery involves strategies for dealing with large-scale site losses and complete IT system recovery.  More generally, Business Continuity is about holistic solutions and strategies to keep your entire business resilient in the face of both natural disasters (floods, fires, pandemics, etc...), and various data disasters (partial failures, service outages, security threats, etc...).  IT Weapons has the expertise to ensure your organization remains resilient in the face of all kinds of disruption—from the server room to the boardroom.

10. How do I get after-hours technical support or help on weekends?
Contact the IT Weapons sales team to discuss your organization’s IT requirements and we’ll develop a customized service agreement to meet your budget and satisfy your system needs; keeping you safe.
